Preparation of project proposals for the railway section Plungė – Šateikiai

Kelprojektas will prepare project proposals for the railway section Plungė – Šateikiai.

Under the project, 13.9 km of new road will be built by the end of 2022, 13.9 km of existing road will be reconstructed, as well as bridges and culverts, switches, crossings, noise barriers, electrical, signaling, communication and other systems will be redesigned. Plungė and Šateikiai stations.

At present, the speed limit for passenger trains in the Plungė – Šateikiai section is 120 km per hour, and for freight trains – 90 km. The project will increase their speed to 160 and 120 km respectively.
