The main objective of stage III of the project for the reconstruction of the Grigiškės junction was to safely separate transit traffic from the local one, as the transport intensity in this area is one of the highest in Lithuania. The largest part of the project encompassed structures (underground passages, quay, bridge, overpass, noise barriers, retaining walls, underground water channel), for which separate parts of structures were being prepared. It took a long time to prepare, detail, coordinate, adapt, adapt to the discrepancies found by the contractor in the current location. The project works that were being carried out required a large number of specialist forces at one time. The project was implemented in accordance with the principle of economic efficiency, therefore, the number of specialists working simultaneously and the long-term experience of constructors enabled quick solution of the problems.

In accordance with Kelprojektas project, highway A5 Kaunas-Marijampolė-Suvalkai (35.4th km–45.15th km) was reconstructed into AM category, expanding it to the right, building a second two-lane carriageway and separating the carriageways by the median strip of 5.5 m in width. The implementation of this project has contributed to the safe transit and domestic traffic of the country, improved communication conditions, while connecting roads and two-level intersections ensure the safe access of local transport to parcels next to the road, conditions were created to prevent rapid degradations of road surface.
