“Kelprojektas” – sponsor of Lithuanian Spaghetti Bridge Championship

2015 May 7 The final stage of the Lithuanian Spaghetti Bridge Championship 2015 took place at Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VGTU). The bridge, built by young spaghetti engineers, withstood a load of as much as 251 kilograms and more than doubled the country’s record last year.
7 teams took part in the creative and exciting construction competition for the third time. Bridges were built not only by students, but also by students, their teacher and the team of VGTU graduates.
The first place in the championship was taken by the team “Špikis”, which consisted of Žygimantas Riauba and Tomaš Seniut, students of VGTU architecture engineering, and Monika Parafinaitytė, a student of urban engineering. They tried for the second time in the tender for the construction of the pasta – the team’s bridge withstood about half a hundred kilograms last year.
The second place was won by the team “Without 100 (k)g non-breaking” – their bridge withstood a load of 188.5 kg. VGTU graduates and last year’s winners improved their result by more than 60 kg. The third place went to the team “Like the building, so we stand”, its result – 56.1 kg.
The participants of the championship constructed bridges from pasta and glue of the chosen shape. The team could have up to four members, with a bridge weighing up to one kilogram, a length of no more than 1.3 meters, a height of 65 centimeters and a width of 13 centimeters.
